On - Going Events

Religious Education for Children ( previously called CCD)
    Our religious education program for children grades K -8 meets on Sunday mornings September - June.
    Classes are held at St. Bernard Elementary School on Henderson, between B and C streets. We begin at 8:15
    in the morning, with a group assembly, followed by dismissal into individual classrooms.  Classes are dismissed
    at 9:30 AM, which is a convenient time to pick up your children to attend the 10:00 Mass at St. Bernard Church.
    Throughout the year, we participate in a variety of Mass events. Preparation for the Sacrament of First
    Communion is obtained within the program, however our classes extend years beyond initial reception of the
    sacrament.

    We welcome all children, regardless of any, or lack of, religious or faith experiences.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

    Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults  - RCIA
    The RCIA prepares both non-Catholics and those Catholics who have only been baptized, to receive the
    sacraments for full participation in the life of the Church. RCIA is a gradual process that takes place within the
    community of the faithful; a spiritual journey of adults which centers around conversion, change of direction.

    We gather at St. Bernard's Rectory on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00.  Those interested in the
    Catholic faith with an eye towards joining our faith community are invited to attend.  There is no
    financial cost or obligation. For more information, contact Dianne at 707-442-8812.


Youth Group
    St. Bernard Church and Sacred Heart Church partner together to provide a Youth Group for all those in 6th
    Grade and up.  The Youth Group meets weekly on Sundays from 6:30-8:00p.m.  Meetings are held in the Youth
    Building at Sacred Heart Church, 2085 Myrtle Ave., in Eureka.  This is a time for youth to have fun, build
    friendships, and develop a deeper Catholic faith.  New members are always welcome.  Please ask for a
    registration form at the meeting.
