Finance Corner - Last weekend the collection was $3,409.
Second Collection - The second collection next week is for Retired Priests’ Health & Care/Religious Retirement.
Stewardship Corner - In today’s Gospel, Jesus feeds the five thousand with five loaves and two fish. The message of stewardship is that God’s gifts, shared, will always be more than enough.
Leave a Legacy - Gifts of real estate to St. Bernard parish-a residence, vacation home, vacant lot-offer you a way to free yourself from the burdens of managing property. Contact the Humboldt Area Foundation (442-2993) to learn how your gift can allow you to continue to live in your home and receive income, avoid capital gains tax, and obtain an immediate income tax deduction.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION - Eucharistic Adoration at St Bernard Church on Wednesdays, after the 12:10 pm mass until 9 pm.
The History of Worship is this year’s topic when Fr. David Anderson returns for a series of Monday evening talks beginning September 8. Plan to attend these popular and informative lectures. Watch future bulletins for more information.
Your honeymoon was a special time - Wherever you went, the things you saw and did were secondary. Just being together was most important. The Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend has the same focus. The weekend centers entirely on your relationship. It is a positive, simple common sense, private experience between you and your spouse, that revitalizes marriage by helping you to see again those loving qualities in each other that you may be taking for granted. The next local Catholic Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend is: November 21-23, 2008 (Santa Rosa). For more information or to register, contact Raul & Gayla Ponce, 866-825-2046 or Email: srsregistrar@comcast.net.

Prayer Line - “When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, and he cured their sick…. Bring them here to me.” (Mt. 14) As Jesus feeds the 5,000+ people, He also feeds us with Himself in the Eucharist. Let us pray to Him for those in need by calling our intentions this week to the Prayer Line. Therese is the Prayer Leader this week and can be reached 441-9159.

One segment is a call-in show for people who have questions. There will also be broadcasts from the Vatican. Pick up a program guide for August on the tables in both churches.
