Finance Corner Last weekend the collection was $5,452.

Second Collection today is for Maintenance & Repair for our parish buildings and grounds.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus sends out the disciples to meet the needs of others. His admonition to them is the same challenge He makes to us: “The gift you have received, give as a gift.”

Outdoor lighting improvements continue at St. Bernard Church.

Leave a Legacy There are three funds at the foundation that benefit St. Bernard Parish. Contributions are tax deductible. The funds are St. Bernard Elementary School Endowment, St. Bernard Parish Endowment, and St. Bernard Repair and Restoration Fund. Contributions can be made thru the parish office or directly to the Humboldt Area Foundation. Recently a Trust contributed to two of the funds, LEAVING A LEGACY TO ST. BERNARD PARISH.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Eucharistic Adoration at St Bernard Church on Wednesdays, after the 12:10 pm mass until 9 pm.

The bulletin item deadline is Wednesday at noon for the following weekend bulletin. It is preferred that items be sent by email to: stbernardparish@sbcglobal.net. If they cannot be sent by email, they may be mailed or dropped off at the church office. We do not take items over the phone.

Summer is here! The St. Bernard’s Prayer Line will be up and running through the summer too. Though members will be on vacation here and there, the rest of us will still be here to help you pray for your intentions. We thank God for His help this past year and ask you to pray for our ministry too. The Prayer Leader for this week is Therese at 441-9159.

Heritage Day Bocce Tournament

The ICF will be sponsoring a Bocce Ball Tournament on Sunday, June 29th. It will be held at St. Mary’s Church grounds, 10 am, 1690 Janes Rd, Arcata. Entry fee is $5 per person or $20 per team. Look for information and sign up sheet in the church or call 822-4755 for more information.

Camp St. Michael

Outdoor enthusiasts, 18-25 years old Camp St. Michael is looking for young women and men to be counselors this summer.  Spend three weeks getting paid to mentor and lead groups of 11-15 year-olds in the beautiful wilderness of northern Mendocino County.  Get an application online at www.campstmichael.org, or call Jennifer at 707-703-9171ALSOIt’s not too late to register for Camp St. Michael’s summer sessions!  Girls sessions start June 23; boys start July 22 (11-15 year-olds); Family Camp for all ages July 11-13.  Register at the website or phone number (to receive a mail-in form) mentioned above.  Registration for each session is open until one week before the start of that session and financial aid is available.

Sing a New Song!” Sacred Heart parish is pleased to announce the return of its annual silent retreat for women and invites the women of your parish to join them. This year’s theme is “Sing a New Song!” and will focus on the continuing call to conversion, using Flannery O’Connor’s short story “Revelation as our springboard. The retreat will be held at Holmes Farm in Willow Creek on Friday, June 20 through Sunday, June 22. Cost of the weekend is $80 which includes meals and lodging. Registrations forms are available in the church and parish office, and are due to Sacred Heart by noon, Wednesday, June 11. Space is limited … so early registration is recommended.
