EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Eucharistic Adoration at St Bernard Church on Wednesdays, after the 12:10 pm Mass until 9 pm.

The St. Bernard Women’s Club will meet on Wednesday. September 24th at 7:00 pm in the Pinochi Room. All parish women ages 18 and older are welcome to attend.

Welcome Brother Fred, our old friend who will be here to preach next weekend, September 28th on behalf of the domestic missions.

Finance Corner Last weekend the collection was $5,348 and The Foreign Missions was $2,374. Thank you for your generosity.

Second Collection The second collection next week is for Hand of Help.

Stewardship Corner In today’s Gospel, the vineyard owner says, “I am free to do as I please with my money, am I not?” We are likewise free. Is a generous return to the Lord, in thanksgiving for His many blessings among the choices we have made?

Leave a Legacy God is good in giving us many things in this world. We must use them wisely, and pass them on generously. September-Leave a Legacy Month-is the perfect time to talk to your attorney or financial advisor about estate planning that will provide for the need not only of family, but also of charities and church in the years to come.

Confirmation High School students who have not been confirmed are invited to join our Confirmation program which begins Monday, September 29th. Registration forms available in the churches.  There will be a meeting for parents of confirmation candidates on Sunday, September 28th at noon in Sacred Heart rectory, 2085 Myrtle Ave.  The first gathering of candidates will be at the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Facility, 35 W. 3rd at 4:00pm on September 29th to assist Betty Chinn with serving a meal for the homeless. Come Holy Spirit!

History of Worship is this year’s topic when Fr. David Anderson returns for a series of Monday evening talks, 6:30 pm in the Pinochi Room of the Parish Hall. The next talk is this Monday, Sept. 22nd. Plan to attend these popular and informative lectures.

If you are an adult interested in the Catholic faith - or a Catholic (adult) who hasn’t received the sacraments of Confirmation or Eucharist - you are invited to a gathering at the SB rectory on Thursday, September 25th at 7:15 p.m.    For more information, call 442-8812.

Pamphlet Rack

As one of their services, the Knights of Columbus offer materials that can help you deepen your knowledge of the Catholic faith. The Knights publish “more than 60 booklets that provide a comprehensive overview of Catholic belief and practice.” We currently have many of these booklets available in our pamphlet racks. Stop by.  You may find just what you need to grow and mature in your faith.

Prayer Line

This year’s elections are crucial for Life and for the Family, basic tenets of society without which no society can stand. Join us as we join prayers to storm Heaven on their behalf. Mary is the prayer Leader this week and will be happy to take your prayer intention call at 443-2435.
